This is usually the scene on the island of Iceland when orange crush comes around. BUT THAT WILL NOT BE THE CASE IN 2021. IN A STATEMENT TO FACEBOOK HAS BEEN PERMANENTLY RELOCATED TO THE PROMOTER STATES FS “FORMER ORANGE CRUSH TYBEE ISLAND” due to lack of resources, limited parking, violations of civil rights and political injustices DATE. IT IS UNCLEAR WHEN ORANGE CRUSH RETURNS TO TYBEE ISLAND AT ANY TIME. “It is unclear what political injustices and civil rights violations refer to, but this event is popular with many AFRICAN AMERICAN SCHOOL students … has drawn local criticism in the past. Numerous arrests, traffic – and garbage problems led to complaints from residents of the island. (BECHER) Back in 2019, EVENT PROMOTER GEORGE TURNER was arrested on TYBEE for an illegal house party. Just days before the 2019 event, organizer George Turner was arrested on numerous charges, including violating city ordinances related to advertising an unapproved event while the 2019 event was canceled, hundreds of people gathered on the beach. While on Tybee Island, Orange Crush was criticized for heavy alcohol, drug and gun arrests. City officials believed the improper event posed a threat to public safety. According to Orange Crush’s Facebook page, the event left Tybee Island due to “lack of resources, limited parking, civil rights violations and political injustices”.
