T

he Victorian Workers’ Protection Agency in Melbourne tried to bring back more than 300,000 AUD Claims for damages by the billionaire and former CEO of Crown Resorts, James Packer after the alleged attack on a security guard in Melbourne’s Crown Casino, reports The Age.

A case filed with the Supreme Court of Victoria on Monday revealed Work coverage, the state workers’ compensation insurance, has already paid a total of A $ 326,834.55 ($ 245,047.47) in compensation and medical expenses to a former Crown security officer who accused Packer of attacking him before threatening to have him released on New Year’s Day in 2016.

The state WorkCover agency is now tracking Packer and Crown to order cover these costswhat it stated would continue to grow.

Former security guard Iskandar Chaban, claiming that Packer had become verbally abusive and threatening, ran up to him, poked him in the chest and said the following words:I’ll kick you out of your job ”on New Years Day 2016.

According to the lawsuit, Chaban says he failed to recognize the former Crown CEO as he approached the main arcade of Crown Tower Melbourne with his older colleague Ishan Ratnam. Chaban said he thought the executive might have been drunk at the time.

“The worker was watching [Mr. Packer], a person previously unknown to the worker, approached him and formed the view that [Mr. Packer] was drunk, “says the letter.

“[Mr. Packer] became verbally abusive and threatening to the worker and ran up to the worker and hugged him. [Mr. Packer] then he verbally threatened the worker with words: ‘I will throw you out of your job.’

“[Dr. Chaban] was then escorted to an office where the executives of the [Crown Melbourne Limited] verbally abused, humiliated, intimidated and bullied the worker, ”says the complaint.

Chaban was then driven to Southern Cross Station. The then 60-year-old was later taken to the Northern Hospital with neck and back injuries.

Last December, Chaban named Packer and his then-employer MSS Security and Crown Resorts as defendants in a separate civil lawsuit over the alleged dispute.

John Karantzis, partner at Carbone Lawyers, who represents Chaban, said at the time that his client continued to suffer from stress, anxiety and depression due to the behavior of Packer and his co-defendants.

“Our customer’s life was devastated by the events that happened. Such behavior is unacceptable and needs to be addressed, ”Karantzis said.

At the time, Crown Casino dismissed the incident as “minor” and “misunderstanding”. The security guard physically blocked Packer’s entrance to the play area, resulting in a “collision,” the statement said.

In a January 2016 statement, Crown claimed it tried to warn Chaban that one of its “key VIPs” was approaching, but the security guard failed to recognize Packer.
