Civil rights coaching for NH conservation employees proposed

CONCORD, NH (AP) – Some state lawmakers have tabled a bill that codifies the training of conservation officers on civil rights and anti-discrimination, and is creating a publicly accessible database to document civil rights violations in public areas.

New Hampshire Public Radio reports that the Senate Natural Resources Committee was considering the Inclusive Outdoor Act at a hearing on Tuesday.

The bill would require conservation officers to receive training on ethics, diversity and de-escalation and enforce anti-discrimination policies.

An executive order already extends a requirement for this training to include conservation officers in response to recommendations from a police accountability commission.
