FBI Columbia to host Civil Rights & Hate Crime Symposium

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO) – The FBI Columbia field office is hosting a public symposium on civil rights and hate crimes in South Carolina this month and September.

You can take part in 4 events throughout the Palmetto State on the following dates and locations:

  • Sat Aug 21 – Charleston Marriot, 170 Lockwood Blvd., Charleston
  • Sat Aug 28 – Cooperative Conference Center, 169 Laurelhurst Ave., Columbia
  • Sat September 11th – Greenville Convention Center, 1st Exposition Dr., Greenville
  • Sat September 25th – Myrtle Beach and Spa in Grande Dunes, 400 Costa Verde Dr., Myrtle Beach

All events take place from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The public can speak to law enforcement about whether they have been victims of hate crimes, how to know about them, and how to report hate crimes.

Event organizers say they want to work with the public to better protect the community together.
