Amazon’s Safety Thought Firm Twitter Account Was Hacked After ‘Antagonistic’ Tweets Attacking Liberal Lawmakers
Amazon Security filed a report claiming the company’s Twitter account may have been hacked late last week after Amazon’s PR account posted tweets in which liberal lawmakers, including Senators Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders, were attacked.
Ken Klippenstein of Intercept said, “Employees were so concerned about the“ unnecessarily antagonistic ”tone that a security engineer filed a suspicious activity report believing that the company’s social media account had been hacked, according to internal company documents received from The Intercept . A tweet in response to Rep. Mark Pocan’s criticism of Amazon’s labor practices said, “You don’t really believe that you pee in bottles, do you?”
“The tweets in question are inconsistent with the usual content posted from this account and do not appear to be inconsistent with the quality conscious wording. They don’t report the same source label (the offensive tweets all report the ‘Twitter Web App’ instead) from ‘Sprinklr’). ”
Last week Senator Warren posted this video and said, “I’m going to put in a bill so that the most profitable companies will pay a fair share.”
Huge companies like Amazon report huge profits to their shareholders – but they take advantage of loopholes and tax havens to pay next to nothing in taxes. That’s just not right – and that’s why I’m going to introduce a bill so that the most profitable companies pay a fair share. pic.twitter.com/vPrmGbjUKW

Amazon, a multinational valued at $ 386 billion, provided several tweets in response. Some considered it amazing that a public corporation would speak to a seated U.S. Senator in this way:
The Intercept adds that employees of the company find Amazon’s aggressive actions on Twitter “embarrassing”.
“Many people thought the account was compromised because of these abuse,” an Amazon employee told The Intercept.
The report did not trigger any action. The “PR management of the company is aware of this”.
The tweets are still active.
