U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) is reportedly on vacation in Cancun while millions of Texans suffer from freezing temperatures, snow, ice and no electricity for at least four days, many without water. The report comes from journalist David Shuster and was subsequently confirmed by Fox News.

Senator Cruz appears to have gone quiet.

Cruz’s office has not responded to photos on social media showing that he has traveled to Cancun. You haven’t confirmed or denied anything and haven’t responded since last night. Comes when Texas residents are left without running water or electricity in a winter storm.

There have been reports of dozens of deaths and several experts have warned that this could become a mass casualty event.

Many on social media are outraged by the Republican Senator from Texas, who is still being blamed for his role in the deadly January 6 riot.

Others point to the work that former U.S. Congressman Beto O’Rourke, the Texas Democrat who ran against Cruz and almost hit him, is doing to help Texans get food and get into heated facilities. O’Rourke is now a private citizen.
