US Senate Confirms Pete Buttigieg as Secretary of Transportation and First Overtly-Homosexual Cupboard Member

The United States Senate has just confirmed Pete Buttigieg as Secretary of Transportation by a wide margin. Buttigieg, a former Democratic presidential candidate who quickly gained a strong following with the Iowa congregations, becomes the first openly gay Senate-approved cabinet member in US history.

The bipartisan vote was 86-13, a huge head start in every respect, but especially in these times of bipartisanship.

A millennial, Buttigieg, aged 39, also becomes the youngest member of the Biden cabinet.

South Bend’s former “Mayor Pete,” now “Mr. Secretary,” he says, “is honored and humbled.”

I am honored and humbled by today’s Senate vote – and ready to work @USDOT.
