Trump Threatens and Berates Georgia Official to ‘Recalculate’ Election and ‘Discover 11,780 Votes’
President Donald Trump spent over an hour trying to pressure Georgian Foreign Minister Brad Raffensperger (R) to scrap the 2020 election results.
The phone call, described as “rambling” and “incoherent,” was first reported on Sunday by the Washington Post.
According to the report, Trump tried to convince Raffensperger to reverse the election result by both flattering and verbally abusing him.
“The people of Georgia are angry, the people of the country are angry,” the president said at one point. “And there’s nothing wrong with saying that you recalculated.”
“Well, Mr President, the challenge you have is that the data you have is wrong,” replied Raffensperger.
“Look. I just want to do this,” Trump said later. “I only want to find 11,780 votes, one more than us. Because we won the state.”
“There was no way I lost Georgia,” he added. “There is no way. We won with hundreds of thousands of votes.”
Trump admitted in a tweet on Sunday that he had spoken to Raffensperger.
“I spoke to Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger yesterday about Fulton County and Georgia election fraud. He was unwilling or unable to answer questions such as “ballot papers under the table” fraud, ballot paper destruction, “voters” out of state, dead voters, and more. He has no idea! “Trump wrote.

The tweet was immediately flagged as possible misinformation by Twitter.
Raffensperger replied that Trump’s claim was “not true”.
Respectfully, President Trump, what you say is not true. The truth will come out https://t.co/ViYjTSeRcC
