‘These Are Trump’s Thugs’: Steve Schmidt Pins Accountability for DC Proud Boy Violence on Presidential Incitement
In a series of tweets, Republican strategist and founder of the Lincoln Project, Steve Schmidt, pointed his finger at Donald Trump, blaming him for the violence that rocked Washington DC on Saturday night.
With reports of stab wounds and gunshots, Schmidt linked clips of right-wing extremist white nationalists roaming the streets and stopping cars and called the members of the group “Trump’s thugs”.
“Take a good look at this,” he wrote over a video link. “These right-wing fascists instigate political violence in the name of a defeated president who incites them. This is the United States Capitol. This is a look at our future. That has to be crushed at the ballot box. “
“Trump does that. This is the result that Fox News, Newsmax, and hundreds of right-wing propagandists have produced for America. This is Trumpism, “he added before saying,” These are Trump’s thugs and they are fascists. You are rampaging against democracy. As a country, we are in an extremely dangerous place. It’s important to see the threat, it’s grave. “

Thugs wear well-known brands, that doesn’t mean they aren’t, they are. These are Trump’s thugs and they are fascists. You are rampaging against democracy. As a country, we are in an extremely dangerous place. It is important to see the threat, it is serious.
