I have seen a disturbing trend in many letters to the editor recently. It appears that a significant number of people have consumed the liberal-progressive Kool-Aid and believe that a person’s civil liberties and longstanding constitutional rights should be sacrificed on the altar of “public safety”.
A former California governor recently made a statement that “screw your rights up”. Perhaps he would prefer the rights he would have in Austria.
I find this trend deeply worrying. Imagine living in a society where anything that was risky or potentially harmful was illegal. Check out the 1997 movie Demolition Man. As was the case in this futuristic / progressive society, anything that was “not good for you” was illegal. When I first saw this movie I found it amusing … not so much anymore!
When the Delta variant first hit the market, I remember experts saying it was more contagious but not as deadly. Now they are again predicting the coming apocalypse. I believe they saw their control over the sheep wear off when people went back to normal.
Now not only do you have to have the vaccine times 2, but you will be motivated to have a third injection, then a fourth, fifth? Over 100 million Americans have already had COVID (CDC numbers). This means that a third of the population already has natural immunity. It worked pretty well for chicken pox, measles, etc.
After consulting my crystal ball, in 2035 I see commercials in television advertising law firms who want to represent people who received the COVID vaccine in 2020-21 and who may be eligible for compensation for being through the vaccine turned into carnivorous zombies. Check out the commercials today.
