On Tuesday, find out about an early civil-rights activist from Michigan Metropolis
The public is invited to the La Porte County Genealogical Society meeting this Tuesday to learn more about an early Michigan City civil rights activist.
At the 6:00 pm meeting in Meeting Room B of the La Porte County Public Library, Susan Webster will introduce the program, An African American Woman Who Achieved So Much. It is the story of Naomi Anderson (1843-1899), who was born in Michigan City to free black parents and was an early suffragette, temperance leader, and civil rights activist.
All are welcome.
