Matt Gaetz and Marjorie Taylor Greene Workforce As much as Push ‘Unhinged’ Trump-Promoted Conspiracy Concept to DOJ

Four right-wing GOP lawmakers teamed up on Monday to mail a letter advancing a far-right conspiracy theory advocated by Donald Trump over the weekend.

US representatives. Matt Gaetz (R-FL), Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), Andy Biggs (R-AZ) and Paul Gosar (R-AZ) signed the embattled Florida Congressman’s joint letter to the DOJ top civil rights officer telling her to stay out of the Maricopa Country, Arizona report. This recount, which is carried out by a company that has no experience with election recounts and that has requested funds for the effort despite taxpayers’ funding, has now lasted well over three weeks with no end in sight.

The four extremist lawmakers include a man charged with possible sex trafficking and possible sex with minors and investigated by the DOJ. a QAnon follower accused of illegal tax fraud; and a white nationalist. Everyone voted to overthrow the 2020 election.

Your letter is addressed to Assistant Assistant Attorney General Pamela Karlan of the Civil Rights Division of the US Department of Justice.

In the letter, they contend, “It was also widely reported that prior to the equipment being shipped to independent auditors, an entire ‘database’ directory of election information was deleted from the primary machine of the election management system. According to Senator Fann, “this indicates that the main database for all election-related data for the November 2020 general election has been removed.”

On Saturday, Donald Trump wrote in a blog post: “The entire Maricopa County, Arizona database has been DELETED!”

The claim is absolutely false, according to Stephen Richer, Republican district clerk for Maricopa County, who describes Trump’s conspiracy theory as “awkward” and “crazy”:

Impressive. This is nothing. I’m literally looking at our voter registration database on my other screen. Right now.

We can no longer indulge in these crazy lies. As a party. As a state. As a country.

This is as easily faked as 2 + 2 = 5. If we don’t exclaim that … pic.twitter.com/5tDy1wsZg6

The four Republicans end the letter by demanding a response by Thursday.
