US Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) will announce the winner of their giveaway for a $ 2,860 Honey Badger “Pistol” from Q on Tuesday. Like everything Greene does, the giveaway is designed for only one thing.
“This is the same type of weapon that the fake news media and Democrats are triggering across the country,” she says on the homepage. “And it’s the same kind of weapon that the Hate America gun grabs in DC would love to ban if they ever got the votes.”
That’s true. The “pistol” is an AR-15 style weapon. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives last year issued an injunction to the manufacturer, but Trump’s DOJ stepped in and effectively voided the order, according to a weapons website.
Greene’s giveaway is also in response to President Joe Biden’s signature of Executive Orders to protect Americans from gun violence. The nation has seen a huge increase in mass shootings this year. According to the armed violence archive, 14,582 people have died as a result of armed violence to date. That number includes 497 children aged 17 years or younger.
So far 180 mass shootings have been carried out. In a mass shooting, four or more people (excluding the shooter) were shot in one incident.
In response to Greene’s announcement that she would announce the winner of the gun, many were furious. Some are calling for House Minority Chairman Kevin McCarthy to ban such events.
