Jake Tapper Shreds Arizona GOP for Persevering with Their Sham Election ‘Audit’

Far-right cable TV channel Newsmax invited David Litt to speak of Elon Musk as the host of “Saturday Night Live,” but the former Obama speechwriter who is now the chief writer and producer of Funny or Die had another topic he was speaking about wanted: a defamation lawsuit against Newsmax by an executive at Dominion Voting Systems.

Things didn’t go well for Newsmax.

Newsmax is owned by longtime close Trump friend Chris Ruddy. When Anker Rob Finnerty opened the segment by praising the former president, viewers probably weren’t surprised at all.

But they must have been shocked when Litt started speaking.

“What happened at SNL that weekend was that people would come up with something and then say it on TV as if it were true, and that actually happens quite a lot on American TV, like in 2020, as Dominion Voting Systems sued Newsmax for false claims of election fraud. Newsmax lied to its own viewers and Newsmax had to settle this lawsuit, so all I really need to do is check in: are you still telling this lie, are you telling new lies? “Asked Litt.

Finnerty, unprepared, did his best to block the attack.

“Wait, are we talking? I’m sorry David, let’s talk about it, do you want to talk about something completely independent and try to catch me on a Monday morning that is completely off topic, or do you want to talk about Elon Musk? “

“Well, I can see what you don’t want to talk about Dominion Voting Systems because if you do, Newsmax could be sued and lose billions of dollars,” Litt replied, making it clear that he didn’t want to talk about Elon Musk. Newsmax has just resolved the lawsuit, apologized, and withdrew its false claims.

“Did Dominion Voting Systems have an impact on the 2020 elections?” Asked Litt.

At this point, Finnerty decided the interview was over, but claimed they were looking forward to having Litt back soon.
