A former New York jailer pleaded guilty to altering a doctor’s letter that allowed the man to postpone his return to work for a week.
The New York State Inspector General Office reported that 27-year-old Kyle Bouille changed the return date from January 18, 2019 to January 23. He had received workers’ compensation after being injured in prison.
The change came to light when officials from the Corrections Department noticed inconsistencies in Bouille’s file and referred the matter to the Inspector General.
Bouille was sentenced to a year parole, fined $ 50, and paid $ 3,322 in restitution.
