GOP Congressman: FBI ‘Participated’ in Rebellion to ‘Entrap’ Innocent Protestors and ‘Body the MAGA Motion’

US representative Louie Gohmert (R-TX) calls on the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Department of Justice to tell Congress what they know about their own alleged “participation” in Donald Trump’s January 6 uprising, which resulted in at least seven deaths. Gohmert falsely claims that the attack on the US Capitol – which was in reality an attempted coup aimed at overthrowing free and fair elections – was instead a “monumental containment scheme used as a pretext to imprison otherwise harmless protesters” , and was used to refer to “the entire MAGA movement as potential domestic terrorists.”

The news organization The Recount calls Gohmert’s claims “a baseless conspiracy theory”.

The Texas Republican Congressman stated on the House floor Thursday that his “friend,” Fox News white supremacist host Tucker Carlson, “reported on it last night,” the conspiracy theory was “really disturbing … because we are not seeing it want “named government representatives stir up anger or state that there are criminal acts that probably would not have taken place without the involvement of the federal government.”

Since he has no evidence that January 6th was an “inside job” as Gohmert claims, he continues to invent possible scenarios, again without any basis.

“Whether it was real agents or undercover agents or informants who worked for the federal government. But that’s scary stuff, that’s, that’s kind of third world stuff, that’s not just third world stuff, it’s like Putin-like kind of activity. So if federal agents were involved on Jan. 6, we really need to know what the FBI knew and when they knew, and not just that, we also need to know how many of our federal friends were involved in the DOJ DO, the FBI or a member the Intel community, what role did they play? “

It’s almost like asking Spokesman Pelosi to set up a special committee to investigate the January 6 riot.
