Few Appear to Purchase Pompeo Declare A couple of ‘Feminine Analyst’ Praising Him for Not Defining Her by Her ‘Sexuality’

Former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, a hopeful president of the GOP by 2024, weighed on recent far-right outrage that the CIA is looking for various candidates. Pompeo, who served as the CIA director before Trump moved him to Foggy Bottom, insisted he never see color or “sexuality” in candidates and told a story few seemed to believe.

When I was director of the CIA, we valued people for their talents and abilities, not for their race or sexuality. I will never forget what an analyst said to me, “Thank you for appreciating me for my work. I want my skills and achievements to define me, not my sexuality. “

Pompeo, a Christian right-wing Dominionist who believes in the Rapture but does not believe in the separation of church and state, once delivered a speech in which he bragged about “being a Christian leader.” After he resigned, a report from the Inspector General blasted his delivery to the State Dept.

He also tweeted, “We cannot afford to risk our national security to appease a liberal, alert agenda.”

He was outright ridiculed, including by some who noted that when he saw “sexuality” he referred to the CIA agent as a “female analyst”?

Here is what some said:

Did she run errands for you back then? Are you working for your wife in violation of the ethical rules? Are you looking for my gifts for your political dinners? No? You lie … as always.

You’re kidding and you keep saying “woke up” like it’s a bad thing to be open. You are very afraid of the people you want disenfranchised. Pathetic.

It is said that there is no value in making sure that you have hired people from different backgrounds and life experiences who approach things from different angles.

It is an appeal to promote homogeneity by making the celebration of defiance of homogeneity an act to be shamed.

Pretty sure to be white and straight are not the criteria for finding the best and brightest. Look at the Trump administration as an example of how badly this goes.

Thank you for making it clear that you will find large numbers of people who are naturally unqualified or less skilled because they belong to historically marginalized communities whose opportunities have always been restricted by bigots, which is sure to be a pure coincidence.

It actually seems better for information gathering when CIA officers * not * all look the same.

Your “glorious” military career ended with you running the fleet, Mike.

And they let YOU into the @CIA! Https://t.co/6FG0JFhbZp
