‘Discuss About Low Vitality’: Trump’s Spiral Into Irrelevancy Brutally Mocked by Reporter

Former President Donald Trump has made it his business to issue formal press releases as he is no longer allowed to tweet. However, Politico reporter Jack Shafer believes the former president’s efforts to remain relevant are “half-hearted” at best.

In his latest column, Shafer notes how incredibly subdued Trump has been since leaving the White House in January, largely avoiding public appearances other than the occasional phone call on Fox News.

“The former president spent most of his exile in the minimum security prison in Mar-a-Lago, where he stands guard at the banquet table and gives dozens of supporters half-hearted speeches about the ‘stolen elections’, a kissable ring on the lips of supporters and golfers”, he writes.

Shafer notes that Trump’s threat to create his own social media network to keep up with Twitter has gone absolutely nowhere, and he’s not even fighting very hard to get Facebook back on their platform allow.

“Trump’s media exposure has waned and Google searches for his name have collapsed,” he writes. “Talk about low energy.”

While Shafter admits Trump could see a political comeback in the years to come, he argues that the former president’s current development is getting him nowhere.

“Trump has voluntarily given up advertising and the media diet continues to make him slim,” he concludes. “Never count the old pigs out, but don’t hesitate to count them down.”
