CNN Panel Buries Ted Cruz for Blaming His Youngsters in ‘Weak Injury Management’
Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) was beaten Friday by a CNN panel for blaming his own children for his decision to flee to Cancun during a humanitarian crisis in his home state of Texas.
Host Alisyn Camerota initially wondered why Cruz didn’t feel obliged to help his fellow Texans when they were suffering in the cold without electricity.
“It is amazing that he seems to have forgotten the civil service part as a civil servant,” she said. “Taxpayers are paying his salary, and instead of spending time taking his family to Cancun, he could have called ERCOT and helped out in his home state.”
Guest Natasha Alford despised Cruz for saying he only went to Cancun because his daughters asked him to go.
“It’s really an insult to our intelligence,” she said. “You would think, if only for aesthetic reasons, that you would stay home and help your constituents while they boil water and try to plug holes in their roof. But the explanation really offended me – you know, the poor damage control, the blame for the kids, or the saying, “Oh, I’d be back in a moment.”
