Civil rights activist Barber to attend information convention in EC | Native Information
Rev. Dr. State and national civil rights activist William J. Barber II will attend a press conference in Elizabeth City on Saturday with the family of Andrew Brown Jr., the unarmed black man who was shot dead by a deputy sheriff on Wednesday.
Other attendees include civil rights attorney Harry Daniels and Keith Rivers, president of the NAACP chapter of Pasquotank County.
Barber is president and lecturer of Repairers of the Breach and co-chair of Campaign for the Poor: A National Call to Revitalize Morality.
The press conference will take place on Saturday at 3 p.m. No location has yet been selected for the press conference.
