Trump’s Personal Protection Secretary Simply Threw Him Below the Bus for Inciting the Rebel
Former acting Secretary of Defense under the Trump administration, Chris Miller, spoke to VICE recently on Showtime and said he believed that then-President Trump’s speech on the morning of Jan. 6 contributed to the attack on the US -Capitol release later in the day.
“… would someone have marched on the Capitol and tried to overrun the Capitol without the President’s speech?” Miller asked, adding that he thought it was “pretty much final” that the violence would not have happened if Trump hadn’t spoken.
“It seems cause and effect,” Miller said. “The question is, did he know he was making people angry about this? I dont know.”
Miller received his share of criticism from some who said the Department of Defense waited too long to use the National Guard in their response to the attack, but he said the pace of response was fairly normal.
“It comes back to understanding how the military works – this isn’t a video game, it’s not a Black Ops Call of Duty,” Miller said.
The story will air exclusively on VICE on Showtime on Sunday March 14th at 8pm.
