Abbott ‘Stalling’ Funds for testing CNN reports
Republican Governor of Texas Greg Abbott attacks President Joe Biden, falsely claiming he is “importing Covid” by allowing migrant children to enter the country.

Abbott also says the Biden government is “refusing to test the immigrants,” but on Thursday CNN reported that Governor Abbott is the one who is actually causing the problem.
“Texas Governor Greg Abbott is blocking efforts by the Biden administration to provide federal funding for Covid-19 testing for released migrants.”
After Abbott announced on Wednesday that it would lift all coronavirus restrictions, including mask mandates, “he claimed without evidence that migrants coming to Texas are exposing residents of the state to the coronavirus,” added CNN.
He also posted this tweet which is wrong.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki When asked Thursday, Abbott put down Abbott’s claims in the most generous and instructive way possible only she can.
“That’s not factual,” Psaki told a reporter. “This is about facts.”
Psaki went on to tell reporters, “Our policy is to have this [testing] done before they are even induced to stay with family members or other people they may know while their cases are being decided. “
It turns out that Texas, not the federal government, is responsible for testing migrants who come into the country. The federal government, Psaki said, is working with states and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to pay for it.
