Cuomo Accuser Gave Investigators 120 Pages of Information, Says Governor Has ‘Preoccupation With His Hand Measurement’: Lawyer

Andrew Cuomo, Democratic Governor of New York Refuses to step down amid growing allegations of sexual misconduct, amid his government hiding coronavirus death toll in retirement homes and dozens of state and national Democrats urging him to resign.

“I will not resign,” Cuomo told reporters on Friday afternoon.

“I didn’t do what was claimed,” added Cuomo. He asked reporters to allow the two investigations into his actions to be completed. He also suggested that there are many possible “motivations” for people to blame him.

Governor Cuomo called all lawmakers – currently around 70 – calling for his resignation “ruthless and dangerous” and said people “know the difference between playing politics, bowing to break culture and the truth”.

“The people of the state have known me for 40 years,” he said, noting that he has been known to the public since he was 23 years old.

A year ago, Cuomo was a national hero who provided the only concrete leadership as President Donald Trump not just for New Yorkers but for the entire country, but completely ignored the coronavirus and pandemic-related fears.

By Friday morning, 59 elected Democrats had signed a letter in the state parliament calling on Cuomo to resign. Another eleven Congress Democrats, including most recently US Representatives Jerry Nadler and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, also called for Cuomo’s resignation.

Congressman Nadler, who serves as chairman of the House of Representatives Judiciary Committee, has been viewed by some as a turning point for Cuomo’s resignation, a point that was expected but did not come on Friday.

The New York Democrats, who were noticeably missed in the calls for Cuomo’s resignation, were Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Senator Kirsten Gillibrand.

New York State Assembly spokesman Carl Heastie cleared an impeachment investigation. The move comes, reports the Rochester City newspaper, “after new allegations were reported in the Albany Times Union that Cuomo“ aggressively groped ”an aide. Five other women said the governor either sexually molested them or touched them inappropriately. “

As a result, New York Attorney General Letitia James has opened an investigation into Cuomo’s actions.
