Danbury civil rights attorney Josephine Smalls Miller has petitioned for reinstatement in federal courts, saying the state discriminated against her by not setting a date for the reinstatement of her statutory license.

Miller, who is black, was suspended from the Connecticut Bar for one year starting November 2018. She applied for reinstatement in December 2019, but was informed in March 2020 that a hearing was delayed due to COVID-19.
