In a shocking tweet barely 24 hours before he will no longer be the US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo unleashed a disturbing tweet denouncing “multiculturalism” and claiming it was “not who America is”. He also combined multiculturalism with authoritarianism. The outgoing diplomat, a former GOP congressman and former CIA director, has been cursed for his allegation on social media.

The United States is built on the history and legacy of people from other countries who travel to America. By definition, the United States is a multicultural society: “the presence or support of the presence of several different cultural or ethnic groups within a society.”

In the past few weeks he has posted a large number of tweets bragging about what he sees as his accomplishments while trying to position himself as the logical successor to President Donald Trump. On his last full day in office, Secretary Pompeo is called a “demagogue” and accused of white supremacy because of his statements.

“Woke-ism, multiculturalism, all the -isms – they’re not who America is,” Pompeo tweeted. “They distort our glorious foundation and what this country is about. Our enemies have fueled these divisions because they know they make us weaker. “

“This country was built on multiculturalism,” CNN’s Keith Boykin said, blowing up Pompeo. “That is why a descendant of Italian immigrants like you could become foreign minister. You should know this story. If you don’t, you should never have been foreign minister. If you do that and say that anyway, you are a demagogue. “
