Trump Says It is ‘Terrific’ That 15 P.c of People Have Contracted COVID-19

President Donald Trump celebrates the high rate of coronavirus infections in America.

About one in eight Americans, or about 15 percent of the nation, has contracted COVID-19, according to the president. More than 290,000 Americans have been killed by the deadly virus and coronavirus cases are rising. More than 15 million Americans in the U.S. have been diagnosed with COVID-19, although months ago the CDC said the actual numbers could be ten times higher.

As of Tuesday, the average rate of infection is more than 200,000 people each day.

But Trump has pushed herd immunity, which is medically not a goal or a strategy, but a statistic to determine when a virus can no longer successfully spread through the population.

“I hear we’re almost 15 percent. I hear that, and that’s great, ”Trump told reporters on Tuesday when asked what advice he had as the country entered the Christmas holiday season.

Trump on the percentage of Americans who were infected with coronavirus: “I hear we’re almost 15 percent. I hear that and that is great. “

“I think the vaccine was our target,” Trump also told reporters. “That was number one because that’s how it ended up and you have immunity, develop immunity for a period of time and I hear we’re close to 15%. I hear that and that’s great, “he said in random, chattering remarks.

Trump continued to lie about the large number of cases and again suggested that there are so many coronavirus cases because of all the testing that has been done.

Sam Stein of the Daily Beast reports that the President “meant that the proposal would be to achieve herd immunity that would be around 70%. Sure, not close and very much not great. “

Trump said it was “great” that 15 percent of the population is infected with COVID (we were at 11.7% per CDC on Nov. 28). He said that as a proposal we would achieve herd immunity that would be around 70%. Sure, not close and very much not great
