Topeka civil rights advocate Invoice Beachy remembered

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – One remembers a man who dedicated his life to equality and justice.

Bill Beachy died on February 25th. He was 72 years old.

Beachy was the executive director of the Topeka Center for Peace and Justice for 20 years. He was also active in politics, serving as the former executive director of the Kansas Democratic Party, leading John Carlin’s campaign for governor, and heading the Washington DC office of Congressman Dan Glickman for six years.

In addition, Beachy served as Chairman of Topeka’s Human Relations Commission and served on the Executive Committee of Topeka’s NAACP office.

Private services are planned for a later date.
