Alabama Tourism Director Lee Sentell has become a writer. He had a book signing for his book at Books-A-Million in Eastchase.
Sentell’s book, entitled “The Official United States Civil Rights Trail,” captures 120 landmarks in 15 states where travelers can learn the history of the foot Civil rights soldiers who changed the world.
He has been on a national tour to promote his book by visiting major cities included in it. This is his first tour stop in Montgomery.
One of Sentell’s fans who came to the book signing was Michial Lewis, who also works on the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, which can be seen on the cover of the book.
Lewis is moderator of the Bridge Lighting Project for the Edmund Pettus Bridge. After getting his book signed, he had this to say, “The book puts everything in context and has explanations and pictures, it’s a great resource and we’re excited.”
Lee Sentell will have another book signing at Books-A-Million in Birmingham on Friday from 4pm to 7pm. The book’s photographer, Art Meripol, will attend the book signing tomorrow.
