2024 GOP likely hopeful president Mike Pompeo, the Trump-era Secretary of State, has revived his old political action committee, CAVPAC, and attracted attention with what many consider to be a bad play on illegal drugs.
The unfortunate tweet includes the word “pipehitter” and Pompeo’s invented definition: “Someone who is uncompromisingly American, someone who fights for our future, someone who never gives in, someone who is committed to the agenda of the radical left. ”

The new topic “pipehitter” signals Pompeo to distance himself from his former boss. He had tried to position himself as the logical successor to the “America First” movement, but Pompeo is now for reasons unknown to another brand that is clearly “Pompeo”.
While the new branding may have passed a Madison Avenue test, it failed the Twitter test.
