Today there is really exciting news about Raleigh Housing estates, on new suspect arrested in connection with the Charlie Debnam dies, and a lawsuit is being heard that could help that Suffrage of convicted felons. All of that, events, and more below.

  1. Wake Technical Community College donated land in South Raleigh to the county for development affordable housing. The side is 6 hectares, and will be expanded into one, two and three bedroom units, with 30% of the units being reserved for students. A survey on the website found that the location 171,600 square feet from buildable space to develop further. The country is located near downtown, and just a short walk from an existing bus stop. The Wake Tech Board of Trustees unanimously approved the land donation in June. (WRAL)
  2. Three superior court Judges began to hear Opening statements and Testimonies in one Wake District Court This could change the schedule for the restoration of voting rights from convicted felons in North Carolina. Several Civil rights groups and former offenders are suing legislative leaders and state officials in a process that began in 2019. They say the rules are against that State constitution and inappropriately hurt black residents. (Spectrum News 1)
  3. Another person was killed in the death of. arrested Charlie Debnam in July. New on Monday Police Chief Estella Patterson announced that Jerome Rayshawn Smith was arrested in Rocky Mount. The incident with Smith and the suspect Marcus Walton caught Charlie Debnam in the crossfire. Both suspects are now facing each other Murder charges as a result of the accidental accident. Chief Patterson thanked the residents for that Community tips this helped identify and locate both suspects. (abc11)
  4. ON Teenager was shot in an apartment complex in Raleigh on Monday afternoon. According to the police, the incident was reported around 6.15 p.m. Trails of North Hills Apartments, east of the Crabtree Valley Mall. The victim was shot in the arm and taken to hospital for treatment not life threatening Injuries. The police assume that public safety in the region is currently not a concern. (CBS17)
  5. Trammell Crow Co, Residential building in the main street, AECOM Canyon partner, and HM partner have teamed up to break the ground 365,000 square meters f00t mixed-use development. The 20-storey tower is supposed to go up to Autumn 2023, and is located in 400 Hillsborough St. The development will house residential units on floors 10 to 20, a pool and SkyHub on the ninth floor, as well as indoor and outdoor office space.
