Prime Home Democrat Sues Trump, Giuliani, Trump Jr., Mo Brooks Over Involvement in Capitol Riot

Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) has filed a lawsuit against former President Donald Trump, Donald Trump Jr., Rudy Giuliani, and Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL) over their roles in sparking the January 6th Capitol riot.

CNN reports that the lawsuit “alleges that Trump, Trump Jr., Giuliani and Brooks violated laws in Washington, DC, including an anti-terrorist bill, by instigating the insurgency, and that they supported and aided violent rioters and members emotional distress inflicted on Congress. “

All four men spoke at a rally held just before the rioters stormed the Capitol.

Brooks told rallyers it was time for them to “kick their asses” and even sacrifice their own blood in the name of freedom, while Giuliani called for “process through struggle” to determine the outcome of the 2020 presidential election.

The lawsuit also alleges that Trump and his allies “violated a civil rights law designed to counter the intimidation of elected officials by the Ku Klux Klan,” writes CNN.
