The governor of the state of Oregon launched an attack on President Donald Trump after learning that there was no federal supply of coronavirus vaccines.
Governor Kate BrownOne Democrat says, “There is no federal reserve for cans.”
The federal government had allegedly withheld a COVID-19 vaccine.
“I want answers from the Trump administration. I am shocked and appalled that they have raised an expectation that they have not been able to fulfill with such grave consequences, ”Governor Brown said on Twitter.
“This is a national deception. Oregon’s seniors, teachers, and we all had to rely on the promise that Oregon’s share of the Federal Reserve’s vaccines would be given to us, ”she added.
Brown says the news was confirmed “directly from General Perna of Operation Warp Speed: States will not receive increased vaccine supplies from national supplies next week as there is no federal reserve dose.”
Oregon Public Broadcasting (OPB) reports to Brown “that increased vaccine shipments will not arrive next week. The head of the state health department said this “seriously” jeopardized vaccination efforts. “
On Friday afternoon, a Washington Post report appeared to indirectly confirm Governor Brown’s allegations.
“When the Minister of Health and Human Services, Alex Azar, announced this week that the federal government will begin releasing coronavirus vaccine doses reserved for second shots, there was no such reserve,” the Post reported, noting that the vaccine reserve was “already depleted” when the “Trump administration promised to release it.”
