NCCI Releases Insights on This 12 months’s Scorching Matters and Trending Points, New State Employees Compensation Legal guidelines, and Different Related Exercise

This year, several states that passed COVID-19 presumption laws in 2020 have taken additional measures to broaden and / or broaden those presumptions. Other states are considering introducing new employee compensation assumptions for COVID-19 for certain workers.

In addition, several states this year proposed laws to make assumptions about employee compensation that could apply beyond the current COVID-19 pandemic. At least a dozen states were considering laws that would make assumptions about compensating workers for infectious diseases and pandemics.

NCCI’s Comprehensive Legislative and Regulatory Report tracks other key workers’ compensation issues, including work-related psychological injuries, the legalization of marijuana and medical marijuana reimbursement in compensation for workers, proposals for health insurance for sole payers, and the classification of certain workers as employees or independent contractors.

NCCI notes that as of July 31 This year, the states passed 150 employee compensation bills and 91 new employee compensation laws. NCCI has monitored nearly 940 state and federal employee compensation laws and over 230 employee compensation regulations so far in 2021, according to the report.
