Memphis native appointed to President Biden’s Workplace for Civil Rights | WJHL

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – A man from Memphis joins the Biden-Harris administration.

Jasmine Bolton, a graduate of St. Mary’s Episcopal School and daughter of former Shelby County Commissioner Julian Bolton, has been named Senior Counsel to the Office for Civil Rights.

After graduating with honors from Harvard University in 2011, Bolton earned a law degree from Columbia University and began an internship with the US Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York in 2014.

From 2016 to 2017, she served as a clerk at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit in Memphis. Bolton then worked as a child rights scholarship holder at the Southern Poverty Law Center in New Orleans.

Prior to joining the Biden Harris administration, she was a senior attorney for the Bail Project and a policy analyst for Elizabeth Warren’s presidential campaign.
