Md. civil rights fee hosts LGBTQ well being occasion
Friday June 25th
“DISDance, Pride Edition – Still We Dance” will be at 6:30 pm. Join the DC Public Library and show your pride by dancing with the library’s Freegal music collections. Post a video or photo of you and your crew dancing or lip-syncing on Instagram and tag the DC Public Library on Instagram (@dcpubliclibrary) with the tags #DCPLDanceParty and #StillWeDance. The library’s favorite videos are shared and crown the video with the most likes as the virtual queen of pride! Prince George’s County Memorial Library Systems named “STEM at Home: Outside the Binary!” virtual at 12 noon The event asks attendees to build four handicrafts (a snail ship, two wormships, and a clown fish ship) while hearing about animals that don’t quite fit into the binary gender binary male / female. Saturday June 26th
Head to A League of Her Own, Mess Hall, and DJ Tezrah for a 10am Pride Block Party Brunch at Mess Hall. Chef Mathew Ramsey will be on hand to hurl breakfast sandos and side dishes, and there will also be ALOHO bartenders on-site to keep the party going. Tickets are $ 65 and can be purchased on Eventbrite.
LGBTQ + youth are invited to join thousands of teenagers from around the country for the NYC Youth Pride 2021 Watch Party at 3:00 p.m. at Eaton DC. This free event is hosted by the Wanda Alston Foundation in partnership with NYC Pride. The event includes refreshments, DJing, and streaming entertainment from NYC Youth Pride. Sunday June 27th
Join the Garden and ALX for Growing Pride at the Garden, a family-friendly day honoring Capital Pride at 2pm. This event has something for everyone including food trucks and 15 local LGBTQ + makers and allies selling local goods. Guests are asked to pre-register for the event on Eventbrite.
“Pride Pilates with Becca” takes place at 9 am in the Upper West Side Cafe (Squash on Fire). This course is high-intensity, low-impact and is based on the Pilates principles: breathing, precision and control. A full body workout is promised with each class and each class is designed for all fitness levels. This session costs $ 22 and can be registered at outfitclass.com/explore/1129.
Monday June 28th
Pride Month Social: Stonewall Edition will be at Freddie’s Beach Bar at 7:00 pm. Grab your beach clothes and come to this free event to commemorate the Stonewall Riots. As part of the event, Freddie’s Beach Bar is soliciting non-perishable food donations for the Arlington Food Assistance Center. Donations are voluntary, but welcome.
