Lively Obligation US Marine Corps Officer Arrested for Alleged Function in January 6 Rebel: DOJ

The US Department of Justice has announced the arrest of a 40-year-old US Marine on active duty, a non-commissioned officer stationed at Quantico, for his alleged role in the January 6 uprising.

Citing court documents and surveillance cameras, the DOJ said in a statement that Major Christopher Warnagiris forcibly entered the Capitol on Jan. 6 after breaking through a line of police officers guarding the doors of the Eastern Rotunda. Once inside, Warnagiris positioned himself in the corner of the door and used his body to hold the door open and draw others in. When a US Capitol Police (USCP) officer tried to close the doors, Warnagiris refused and kept pushing them open. Warnagiris urges the officer to maintain his position in the open door on surveillance camera footage and publicly available video that was taped shortly after 2:25 p.m. “

Warnagiris “is charged with federal offenses that include attacking, resisting, or hindering certain officials. Obstruction of law enforcement in civil unrest; and obstruction of justice, including prosecution. Warnagiris will appear in court in the Eastern District of Virginia today at 2:00 p.m., “the DOJ said.
