Lindsey Graham Offers Weird Interview to Axios Reporter Who’s Compelled to Ask ‘You Do not Actually Imagine That Do You?’
Axios reporter Jonathan Swan became famous during an interview with then-President Donald Trump. During an interview with Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Swan asked the Trump golf buddy about the future of the GOP and the former president.
Swan asked Graham if he wanted to encourage Trump to run again in 2024 when he made it clear he couldn’t believe Graham would do something like that.
“I just don’t see how you could – you don’t really believe that, do you? You only do BSing so that he doesn’t go out and found a third party? “Said Swan honestly.
“A third would be a disaster,” said Graham.
“I know! You do. You caress his ego,” Swan said.
Graham claimed he told Trump to keep his options open for 2024. He stated that his hope is that the most eligible person will run.
When it came to the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, Graham explained how to blame Trump for problems while being friends and playing golf with him at Mar-a-Lago.
“Donald Trump was my friend before the uprising,” said Graham. “And I try to maintain a relationship with him after the uprising. Uh, I still consider him a friend. What happened was a dark day in American history and we will go forward. So here is what you need to know about me. I’ll move on – I want us to continue the policies that I think will make America strong. I believe the Republican Party can best do this with Trump, not without Trump. “
Swan noted that Trump is still telling people that he won when it is clear he didn’t.
“And I still tell him every day that he wants to listen that the main reason he probably lost in Arizona is because of beating the dead man named John McCain,” Graham continued. He went on to explain that kicking Trump out is too easy and he hopes to take the Trump movement and turn it into something that could work.
“Mitt Romney didn’t do it. John McCain didn’t. There’s something about Trump, ”said Graham. “There’s a dark side and some magic. I’m trying to use the magic. For me, Donald Trump is kind of a cross between Jesse Helms, Ronald Reagan and PT Barnum. I mean, it’s just this larger-than-life deal that could turn the Republican Party into something that no one else I know could do. “
The question for many Republicans, however, was what the future of the GOP would look like under Donald Trump and how willing they are to jeopardize long-standing Republican values for Trumpism.

They also discussed climate change, which Graham believes is real and which is somewhere between “The world will end in 10 years and do nothing”.
Swan further quoted Graham as saying to Fox News in January that if Biden rejoins the Paris Agreement, he will “ruin the economy.” Graham denied saying it before Swan quoted him word for word, prompting the Senator to explain how he could hold two opposing views at the same time.
