Israeli civil rights org: Cease utilizing stun grenades on nonviolent protests

The Association for Civil Rights in Israel wrote a letter to Police Commissioner Kobi Shabtai on Sunday calling on him to stop using stun grenades to disperse peaceful protesters after widespread criticism since the rise of sectarian violence in recent weeks, reported Walla News.

“From the evidence gathered, a disturbing picture emerges of the massive and unbridled use of stun grenades in a systematic and persistent violation of stun grenade procedures. The ease with which grenade pins were drawn resulted in injuries to many people who were completely participated in non-violent demonstrations, “the letter said.
