Hundreds of Trump supporters stormed the Washington Capitol on Wednesday afternoon as Congress met in a joint session to confirm President-elect Joe Biden’s victory.
Washington Post reporter Rebecca Tan said the protesters stormed barricades in the back of the building before heading to the Capitol steps.
“Some tried to scale the building structures and were approached by the police,” Tan wrote. “You want to enter the building and try to do so at regular intervals. The Capitol Police are trying to hold them back. “
Shortly before, President Trump encouraged supporters to march from the White House to the Capitol after his speech.
