The House of Representatives Democrats and Republicans announced Friday morning that an agreement had been reached “to introduce legislation to establish a bipartisan, independent commission to investigate the January 6th domestic terrorist attack on the United States Capitol.” Many have doubted the commission will be formed after Republicans worked to derail progress. Spokeswoman Nancy Pelosi praised the Homeland Security Committee’s agreement, saying: “It is imperative that we seek the truth about what happened on January 6th with an independent, bipartisan 9/11 commission Investigate and report on terrorist attack. “
