Readers may recall a 2018 blog post about Sam Solakyan, who was accused of running a fairly extensive employee compensation fraud scheme that involved multiple imaging agencies.

Well, the Justice Department announced last month that Solakyan had been found guilty of conspiracy to commit honest postal and health fraud and 11 cases of honest postal fraud.

Solakyan was charged with paying bribes and making referrals for doctors who referred patients to his various California facilities for imaging. The conviction is scheduled for October 4th, but of course everyone should check their pile of liens and unpaid picture bills.

Invoices from the San Diego MRI Institute (with approximately 200 liens on EAMS) and Vital Imaging Inc. (with approximately 13 liens on EAMS) should be considered.

Remember to take a good look at Section 139.21 of the Labor Code to investigate a lien release or a basis for rejecting a bill, especially given that belief.
