Washington, DC Metropolitan Police Officer Michael Fanone was one of 140 law enforcement officers injured while protecting the U.S. Capitol and members of Congress on Jan. 6. He was beaten so badly that he suffered a heart attack while fighting Trump’s insurgents, but he was conscious enough to suddenly hear the rioters yelling, “Kill him with his own weapon!”
Officer Fanone was at the U.S. Capitol and met on Wednesday, the day after 21 House Republicans voted against a law to award Congressional gold medals to all police officers fighting to save lives and democracy on Jan. 6 on Rep. Andrew Clyde (R-GA).
Congressman Clyde, who sits on the Homeland Security Committee and is one of 21 who voted against the awards, refused to even shake hands with Officer Fanone.
Clyde is the legislator who falsely compared the rioters and insurgents to a “normal tourist visit”.
United States MP Eric Swalwell (D-CA) reached out to Twitter to share the allegations, backed by Republican Adam Kinzinger.
