Founding father of U.S. Civil Rights Path to go to Brown v. Board Historic Website for guide signing
TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – The founder of the US Civil Rights Trail will hold a book signing at Brown v. Board of Education National Historic Site.
Visit Topeka says Lee Sentell, author and director of the Alabama Tourism Department and co-founder of the US Civil Rights Trail, selected Topeka to begin his book signing. It is said that the event will be held on Tuesday, July 27th at 4 p.m. by Brown v. Board of Education National Historic Site
According to Visit Topeka, the announcement follows the release of his new work at the King Center in Atlanta on June 23. It states that Sentell will give a presentation on his new book, The Official United States Civil Rights Trail, in which the movement and the role, the places where the path played then and now in the pursuit of social justice. It was said that the public was invited to attend the event from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
“Topeka has played a historic role in the pursuit of civil rights in our country,” said Sean Dixon, President of Visit Topeka. “The Brown V. Topeka Board of Education National Historic Site is a major heritage site that attracts visitors from around the world. This book, and Director Sentell’s selection of Topeka as a ward to visit, will enable a wider audience to learn from the teachings of Brown V. Board. “
“The Civil Rights Trail begins at the school integration site here in Topeka, Kansas,” Sentell said. “For this reason, it was my intention to start the book tour here to record the story and follow the trail, to pay homage to the sites and to showcase the trip.”
