Foster Farms Employee Dies in Industrial Accident| Employees Compensation Information

Foster Farms reported that a 50-year-old man was killed in an industrial accident, according to a report by the Merced Sun-Star on Wednesday.

Mario Ramos Espinoza was working at the company’s fertilizer plant near Livingston at the time of the accident.

Daryl Allen, a spokesman for the Merced County Sheriff’s Office, said preliminary details suggest Espinoza arrived at the site around 4 p.m. to work on a water truck. An employee found Espinoza under the truck, which was still running.

First responders were called at 10 p.m. and Espinoza was pronounced dead around 11:30 p.m.

The Sun Star reports that the California Department of Safety and Health at Work is investigating the accident.
