Former Trump Official Calls His Determined Actions to Steal the Election ‘Unconscionable’
A former Trump administration official on Tuesday unloaded President Donald Trump’s increasingly desperate offers to stay in power.
Elizabeth Neumann, former assistant secretary of homeland security for counterterrorism and threat prevention, told CNN she was appalled at reports that the Department of Defense feared Trump would order them to step in and help him dismiss the 2020 election results.
“It’s just incomprehensible that we are talking about the President of the United States and the military who must be afraid of him,” she said. “But unfortunately this is who Trump is and he’s been like that for four years.”
Neumann then stated that the latest reports of Trump’s disruptive behavior match exactly the behavior she has personally seen while working for the White House.
“He does not understand the Constitution, he is incapable of performing his duties and his priorities are not best for the country, but best for him,” she said. “I find it interesting that you now have White House officials sounding the alarm, but the person he is and the way he operated … has not changed.”
