Former IPI chair Cui Li Jie in contempt of court docket for second time
Former Imperial Pacific International Holdings chairman Cui Li Jie has been found for disobeying the court and given just over a month to abide or faces jail time.
According to reports from Marianas Variety and Saipan Tribune, Cui was convicted of disregard for the second time this week by the U.S. District Court for the NMI in a case involving seven former construction workers at the IPI’s integrated resort in Saipan, Imperial Palace · Saipan. These workers are currently seeking compensation for alleged labor law violations and human trafficking.
In particular, Cui has been accused of evading a subpoena and not responding to deleting WeChat data from her phone after being empty on the 4th, claiming to have lost the SIM card she has been since when they arrived in Saipan, and continued to use the phone after a security warrant was issued on March 31st.

On Wednesday, the U.S. District Court gave Cui until October 4th to rid itself of her contempt by giving her computer for forensic copy, filing an amended affidavit within five days of filing an amended affidavit on Wednesday Describing all ESI data and providing proof of purchase for a new rose gold iPhone and immediately providing all remaining SIM cards and submitting an affidavit from the seller confirming that the mapping of all devices is completed and kept and confirms that the WeChat Account details have been retained.

The court found that Cui “clearly and unequivocally” violated the court’s retention policy by continually deleting WeChat messages despite being told not to and the court not using any other electronic devices in her possession had informed.
