First Woman Jill Biden Serves Up a ‘Valentine to the Nation’ (Video)

It’s an image that couldn’t be more different than what Americans have seen in the past four years: the President of the United States and the First Lady walking together on the White House grounds, coffee cups in hand, dogs walking around, he’s wearing jeans and a leather bomber jacket, she’s wearing a casual full-length magenta winter coat, both of them are wearing masks.

President Joe Biden toured First Lady Jill Biden’s “Valentine to the Nation” surprise, large red, white, and pink hearts on the White House lawn adorned with the words “Unity,” “Healing,” “Compassion.” . “Kindness”, “Peace”, “Hope” and “Love”.

“This is her Valentine’s Day for the country,” the first lady’s office told CNN’s Betsy Klein:

Valentine’s Day is “Jill’s favorite day. Really, ”the president told reporters early Friday morning.

“I just wanted some joy,” said the first lady when asked why she did it. “With the pandemic, everyone just feels a little down. So it’s just a little joy. A little hope. That’s all.”

President Biden related a story of his first year in the White House as Vice President when then Second Lady Jill Biden painted hearts on windows with a special message. He spoke of his love for her when she patted one of the dogs.

Reporters quipped that the president might bring them coffee next Friday. He apologized for pulling it out so early.

After a reporter offered to bring donuts next week, President Biden gave her his coffee.

“I’ll see you,” he said.

“Happy Valentines Day!” Cried Dr. Biden.
