Identified workers should have received a letter from icare describing the reassessment process. The spokesman said the historical payments review revealed that income information used to determine weekly compensation payments was not made available to the insurer at the time in some cases. “In these areas (Kempsey, Port Mcquarie and Taree) there are 2,877 workers who have been contacted to have their previous compensation payments reassessed to ensure they are receiving the correct entitlements,” the spokesman said. “By July 30, 2021, icare has reevaluated approximately 8,604 eligible claims from across New South Wales.
