CPAC Officers Beg Attendees to ‘Comply With the Legislation’ and ‘Work on Carrying a Masks.’ It Would not Go Properly.

Two administrative officers attend CPACThe Conservative Political Action Conference kicked off events Friday morning by asking attendees to wear a mask to stop the spread of the coronavirus. It didn’t go well.

While the parent organization claims it literally defines what conservatism is, CPAC is an annual gathering of Conservatives that has always joined and served a far-right crowd while trying to be more mainstream in order to gain credibility.

“I want to mention one thing too, and I know this might sound like a downer,” said the morning’s host, “Dan” on stage at the Hyatt Regency Orlando. “But we also believe in property rights, and this is a private hotel, and we believe in the rule of law, so we must obey the laws of this county where we are.”

“But a private hotel, just like your house, can have its own rules,” he said, passing the money on to deliver the bad news to “Carly, our CPAC director.”

“Well, as Dan mentioned, we are in a private facility,” she said, a little nervously, “and we want to respect the ordinances that you have as private property, so please everyone when you are at the facility if you are Sitting in the ballroom should still be wearing a mask. So if everyone can move on, work on it. I know, I know, it’s not the most fun. ”

That’s when shouts of “Freedom!” started.

Dan had to resign.

“You have the right, you have the right to make your own rules in your own house. And we borrow someone else’s house, so we have to obey their rules. “

The calls grew louder.

“Thank you all for putting on your masks. I wear a mask when I’m in the halls and we will obey our rules. ”Dan told the audience.

“Thank you so much for having a good conference,” concluded Carly.

A Bloomberg News reporter posted a video of Florida Republican Congressman Matt Gaetz refusing to set an example and not wear a mask in his own state and others who also refused to adhere to it Thursday night.

I just saw a #CPAC representative ask a participant several times to put on their mask. He turned to her, coughed, and walked on. I would say that around 60-70% of the participants wear masks, even though a rule calls for masks.
