County extending COVID-19 go away for workers | Information
MADISON – The Board of Commissioners meeting on Tuesday discussed the coronavirus vacation for Madison County employees.
District clerk Anne Pruss said on Dec. 31 the district was not responsible for covering the cost of recreational wages for workers due to COVID-19 under the Senate and Congress amended Family First Coronavirus Response Act.
When employees need to be quarantined, they are currently given 80 hours of paid vacation.
Pruss said employees can still have time off if they have to stay home because of COVID and have already used the 80 hours.
“You would then use sick leave, comp time and leave. We will make sure that those too The federal family and medical leave records are being set up to keep them safe. “
An application to maintain and extend the COVID sick leave until April 30 for district employees was unanimously approved.
